 Summary
Even if the metallic fiber reinforced concrete is used for a long time now, it has not yet the place it deserves as construction material. The most recent invention of self compacting concrete and the technological progresses in the field of admixtures have partially solved the problem associated with its manufacturing. Indeed, we are actually able to fabricate concretes loaded with high fibers contents (> 60 kg/m³). The project goal is promoting the metallic fiber reinforced concrete for the adequate applications; i.e. structural applications pre or in-situ casted. We will show evidence that the different elements perform in bending, in shear stress or punching. The first objective is contributing to three Walloon companies growth respectively Eloy (in-situ casted applications), Remacle (precasted applications) and e-Xstream engineering (numerical applications) and to show with the right comparison the technical and economical advantages of fiber reinforced concrete when compared to the traditional rebar reinforced concrete. The final project goal will be to define the criteria to create a dimensioning table as well as an application field range of these different structure types for these applications. |
