The Department has two Sections:

The global management is ensured by the Head of Department. He is, for each Section, assisted by a Technical Manager in charge i. Moreover, the Technical Managers have the mission of ensuring and maintaining the accreditation of the laboratories.

Three teams made up of Technical Supervisors, Technicians and Operators ensure the execution of the tests.

1. Mechanical Testing Section (SEM)

The SEM is articulated around two sectors.

The concrete sector obviously takes care of the execution of the tests on concrete and products made of concrete but also of the tests on sands and aggregates, mortars and admixtures.

Besides the tests on cements, the cement sector manages the execution of the tests on the constituents of cement, such as the blast furnace slag, the fly-ashes as well as on certain hydraulic binders or certain specific additions.

2. Section des Analyses Chimiques (SAC)

The SAC carries out tests on cements, constituents of cements, such as blast furnace slag, clinker and fly-ashes, hydraulic binders and admixtures for mortars and concrete.

The chemical analyses on hardened concrete or concrete products are carried out by the Research Department because of the high technicality of equipment they normally require.
